Hyundai Motor India Limited, the country’s second-largest carmaker, recently launched the updated 2023 i20 facelift. The newest iteration of the popular premium hatchback has received some cosmetic upgrades on the outside and some feature additions on the inside. The model, which starts at Rs 6.99 lakh, has now also started arriving at dealerships across the country. Recently, a few pictures of the new i20 in a new color have been shared online.
The video of the 2023 Hyundai i20 sitting at a dealership warehouse has come courtesy of The Car Show on Youtube. The video shows a brand-new i20 top-of-the-line Asta (O) variant finished in the newly launched Amazon Grey color. The 2023 i20 is being offered by the brand in 6 single-tone color options, including Atlas White, Titan Gray, Typhoon Silver, Starry Night, Fiery Red, along with the new Amazon Grey. The company is also offering it with two dual-tone color options, namely Atlas White + Black Roof, and Fiery Red + Black Roof as well.
From the pictures, the newly updated pricing and exterior design can be noticed in detail. For starters, the company at the front has given the 2023 model a brand new grille. This grille gets a ton of high-gloss black elements, which are now smaller but more in number. Earlier, the grille had bigger but fewer of these elements. Apart from this, the headlights have been updated. The new all-LED headlights now get baguette diamond-style LEDs and a single strip of LED DRL on top. Additionally, the car also gets a redesigned front bumper, which boasts two arrowhead air dams at the side, which also house functional air vents.
The front bumper has also been revised, and now it gets a silver front lip that highlights the sporty appearance of this premium hatchback. Moving on to the side profile, the company has not changed much here. It has continued with the same aggressive styling, with the only new change being a brand-new set of 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. Lastly, at the rear as well, the company has kept things simple and has only added a brand-new bumper. This bumper now gets a big high-gloss black area and a massive silver skid plate. The rest of it is the same as the previous model, as it retains the same Z-shaped LED.
Moving on to the interior of the updated model, a few things are now different. The biggest and most noticeable change is that the car now gets a dual-tone interior theme instead of the all-black theme from before. The company has done this to provide a more airy feel to the interior. The top half of the car gets the same black upholstery, but the lower section is now finished in a light grey color. Apart from this, the interior layout is identical to the pre-facelift model.
As for the other updates on the new facelift’s interior, it now gets ambient lighting, a BOSE 7-speaker premium system, and a physical volume knob for the same 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Additionally, the car also gets new semi-leatherette seats, leatherette door armrests, a new leather-wrapped D-Cut steering wheel, and an immersive ambient sound experience with seven nature-inspired soundscapes. Apart from these, the new facelifted i20 also gets 60+ connected car features, 127 Embedded VR commands, 52 Hinglish voice commands, Over-the-Air updates, Multilanguage UI support with 10 Regional and 2 International languages, and a Type-C charger.
Under the bonnet, the new 2023 i20 facelift comes equipped with the same 1.2L Kappa petrol engine with Manual Transmission and Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT). This engine generates a maximum of 87 bhp of power and 115 Nm of torque. The new 2023 i20 now features Idle Stop & Go (ISG) feature, which has been added to improve the fuel efficiency of this premium hatchback.
