Extremely Easy Origami Rabbit Tutorial For Kids


Today, we’ll be folding a cute origami rabbit that’s perfect for beginners and kids of all ages! All you need to make this adorable origami bunny is a square piece of origami paper and a little bit of patience!

Step 1

Start with a square piece of origami paper, in your favorite color. Place the white side down on the table.

Step 2

Fold the paper in half, from left to right. Then open it back up.

Fold the paper in half again, but this time from top to bottom.

Open it up again!

Step 5

Now fold the paper diagonally, from the top left corner to the bottom right corner. Open it up.

Time for a diagonal fold.

Step 6

Fold the paper diagonally again, from the top right corner to the bottom left corner. Open it back up.

Step 7

Now, take the left and right sides of the paper and squash-fold them towards the center to create a triangle shape. This can be a bit tricky, but just make sure the paper folds neatly into a triangle.

Let’s make a triangle now.

Step 8

With the triangle shape in front of you, fold the left corner up to meet the top tip of the triangle.

Let’s fold up the left side.

Step 9

Now fold the right corner up to meet the top tip of the triangle as well. That part should look like a diamond now.

Now fold up the right side – almost a diamond!

Step 10

Take the left tip of the diamond and fold it towards the middle line of the paper.

Step 11

Repeat the previous step by folding the right tip of the diamond towards the middle line as well.

Keep folding!

Step 12

Fold the top right corner downwards.

Step 13

Fold that same corner once more, this time towards the middle line of the paper.

Keep going – you’re almost there!

Step 14

Now fold the top left corner downwards, just like you did on the right side.

Now fold down the other side!

Step 15

Fold that same left corner again, this time towards the middle line.

Step 16

On the right side of your paper, you’ll notice a small flap at the bottom. Take that flap and tuck it into the pocket created by the top flap.

Time for a little tuck on the right.

Step 17

Repeat the previous step on the left side by tucking in the small flap into the top pocket.

On the other side too!

Step 18

Flip your paper over so that the back side is now facing you.

Flip it over!

Step 19

Fold the right side of the paper towards the center, aligning the edge with the middle.

Fold the right side towards the center – almost done!

Step 20

Now fold the left side of the paper towards the center as well. You’re almost done!

Now fold the left side in too.

Step 21

Fold the bottom half of the right side outwards to create an ear.

Step 22

Do the same on the left side—fold the bottom half outwards to create the other ear.

Step 23

Fold the right side upwards. This will complete the bunny’s ear.

Finally, fold the left side upwards to complete the second ear.

Instructions

    1. Start with a square piece of origami paper, in your favorite color. Place the white side down on the table.
    2. Fold the paper in half, from left to right. Then open it back up.
    3. Fold the paper in half again, but this time from top to bottom.
    4. Open it up again!
    5. Now fold the paper diagonally, from the top left corner to the bottom right corner. Open it up.
    6. Fold the paper diagonally again, from the top right corner to the bottom left corner. Open it back up.

    18. Flip your paper over so that the back side is now facing you.
    19. Fold the right side of the paper towards the center, aligning the edge with the middle.
    20. Now fold the left side of the paper towards the center as well. You’re almost done!
    21. Fold the bottom half of the right side outwards to create an ear.
    22. Do the same on the left side—fold the bottom half outwards to create the other ear.

    24. Finally, fold the left side upwards to complete the second ear.
