Dolphins wide receiver Grant DuBose is expected to return to Miami Wednesday, coach Mike McDaniel said.
“Haven’t seen him, talked to him, and we’re all just very, very excited to get to see him,” McDaniel said. “He’s been on the constant mind of a lot of people.”
Dubose was hospitalized in the Houston area after the first-year player suffered a head injury during Sunday’s loss to the Houston Texans. The Dolphins placed him on injured reserve this week.
The team said on Monday that DuBose “has movement in all extremities and initial tests have revealed positive results” and that “he remains under the care of doctors for continued observation.
McDaniel initially told reporters on Sunday there was “some positive feedback” after DuBose underwent imaging on his head and neck, and the receiver would remain in Houston.
DuBose took a shot to the head from Texans defender Calen Bullock in the third quarter. Medical staff attended to DuBose for more than 10 minutes before taking him off the field on a stretcher.
DuBose remained on his back as medical personnel cut off his jersey and removed his face mask to treat him. Dolphins teammates huddled near DuBose and Texans players stood by in concern for DuBose’s health.
He had one catch for minus-2 yards in Sunday’s game before the injury.
