It was not a night short of action at Celtic Park.
Two players very familiar to fans of the Premier League in Michael Olise and Harry Kane got on the scoresheet for Bayern, while Celtic’s Daizen Maeda pulled one back later in the game to keep them in the tie.
Olise’s finish was a lovely effort from distance, while Kane was afforded too much time and space to volley in from a corner. Maeda reacted quickly from a set piece to head in and halve Bayern’s advantage.
Celtic actually thought they had made the perfect start to the game with Nicolas Kuhn scoring inside 30 seconds of the match starting. But Adam Idah was offside and blocked Manuel Neuer’s view, so it was chalked off.
