Jonas Eidevall has confirmed that Beth Mead and Steph Catley will miss Arsenal’s Champions League qualifier against Rangers on Wednesday evening.
Neither were involved in the side’s friendly win over Southampton on Saturday, but Mead trained individually ahead of the clash with Rangers.
“Beth Mead and Steph Catley didn’t take part in training and won’t be part of the squad tomorrow,” the Arsenal head coach said.
“It’s a day by day thing. Beth Mead is getting very close to returning to the squad, so she is next in line to return.”
Mead absence was put down to a groin issue while Catley is managing an ongoing minor muscle problem.
New signing Daphne van Domselaar was not involved against Southampton either, but Eidevall has confirmed she will be part of the squad against Rangers.
Should Arsenal beat the Scottish side, they will play either Atletico Madrid or Rosenborg on Saturday 7 September for a place in the second round of qualification for the Champions League group stages.
