Boby Chemmanur is a Kerala-based businessman who is popular on the internet for his unique style of marketing. People often notice him because of this. He often uses expensive cars as marketing tools for his new products. Towards the end of 2023, Boby brought his Ford F650 pickup to India to promote his newly bought 1,000-acre tea plantation in Wayanad. Since then, the truck has been in Kerala. We have come across several videos and shorts of the F650, and here we have a detailed walkaround video of the same.
The video has been shared by Najeeb Rahman on his YouTube channel. In this video, the vlogger starts by talking about the exterior of the truck. From the videos and images that we have seen in the past, it is quite evident that the F650 is unlike any other vehicle sold in the Indian market. It is a true-blue American pickup truck when it comes to dimensions.
The bonnet of the F650 is higher than the shoulder level of the YouTuber seen here. The front grille bears the Ford logo, and on either side of the grille, we have Raptor-like halogen headlamps. The owner has installed several auxiliary lamps to ensure that other road users can differentiate this vehicle from others.
The front bumper is completely made of metal and is chrome-plated. This dual-cab pickup truck comes with a strip chassis from the factory, which means the truck doesn’t come with the rear luggage bed. As this is a heavy-duty truck, often people who buy this truck get it customized to their liking. There are two fuel tanks on this truck, one on the left side and the other on the right.
The combined fuel capacity of this truck is around 430 liters. The driver can switch between the fuel tanks with the click of a button in the cabin. In order to get inside the cabin, there is a retractable step that comes out when the doors are opened. The fuel tank is designed in such a way that it doubles up as a step to climb into the cabin.
The cabin of the Ford F650 is spacious and is not something that we would call premium. It offers a decent amount of space for all the occupants and comes with a lot of storage compartments.
This particular truck is fitted with an air horn, which is illegal in India. However, Boby Chemmanur doesn’t use it. For use in India, there is a regular horn. There are buttons to control the auxiliary lamps and also to lower the luggage bed of the truck.
The vlogger even speaks to Boby Chemmanur in this video. He mentioned that it would cost him around 2 crores if he plans to import this car to India. This truck is currently in India for a short span of time, and he will be returning it to Dubai and using it there. The F650 is powered by a 6.7-liter V8 engine that generates 330 PS and 1,015 Nm of peak torque.
We have seen images and videos where the F650’s size was compared with the Toyota Hilux pickup. It actually made the Hilux look like a toy. The F650 once got stuck, and a Mahindra Thar recovered it.
