Cambridgeshire County Council has completed preliminary market engagement for its next major construction framework, which is expected to be tendered in summer 2025.
The council confirmed today (20 May) in a preliminary market engagement notice that the soft market testing process, launched under the Procurement Contract Regulations 2015, closed on 14 March.
That process aimed to inform the procurement strategy for a new construction framework covering the period from 6 April 2026 to 5 April 2029, with an optional one-year extension.
The value of the new planned framework was not disclosed.
No further market submissions are being sought, with the council planning to advertise the framework on the Find a Tender service later this year.
The new Cambridgeshire-wide framework will be structured as a commercial tool for delivering construction works across the county and is expected to attract bids from small and medium-sized enterprises.
Cambridgeshire County Council currently has two construction frameworks. A design and build framework for large-scale projects is primarily related to education buildings and ends in November this year.
A minor works framework covers smaller requirements up to about £1m in value, and is due to end in April 2026.
