?? Letâs Make a Shark Puppet!
1. Print Your Puppet!
Start by printing out the shark puppet template. If youâre using the black-and-white version, color it in before you do any folding or cutting. Itâs much easier to decorate while the paper is flat!
2. Cut Out the Straps.
Youâll see two strips labeled âstrapâ on the template. Cut those out first and set them aside.
3. Fold Along the Lines.
Your template includes fold lines with arrows or instructions. Carefully fold where shownâsome folds go forward, some go backwardâso the puppet mouth opens and closes like a real chomping shark!
4. Now Cut Out the Shark!
Once everything is folded correctly, itâs time to cut out the shark shape. This step is easier after folding because the template holds its shape better.
5. Reinforce the Folds.
Press along the folded lines again to help the puppet keep its structure. This will make the chomping action smoother!
6. Attach the Straps.
Fold each end of your straps back to make tabs. Glue one strap to the top jaw and the other to the bottom. These become the hand grips that let you open and close the puppetâs mouth!
? Top Tip:
Have an adult help fit the puppet to your hand. Glue one side of the strap to the puppet, place your hand underneath, then fold and glue the other end in place to fit snugly. Trim the strap if needed!
