Supplies Needed For This Beach Ball Game
How To Play This Beach Ball Game
Step 1
Blow up your beach ball.
Step 2
Have each player hold a side of the sheet. You need at least 2 players, though its more fun with more than 2.
Step 3
Place the ball on the sheet.
Step 4
Give the kids missions or set up obstacle courses and they have to get through while moving the sheet and ball. They cannot touch the ball. Once they complete all the missions or games they win!
Missions and Game Ideas
- Have the kids throw the ball up in the air and catch it with the sheet.
- Ask them to carry the sheet with one hand.
- Set them up an obstacle course to get through with the sheet and ball.
- Play mother may I.
- Play red light green light.
- Have them race.
How To Modify This Beach Ball Game For Younger Children
A sheet and beach ball may be too big for toddlers. You can use a yard of cloth, small blanket, or towel and use a smaller ball like a tennis ball. And they can use 2 hands to keep hold of the cloth.
If communication and moving around too much is difficult, just have them bounce the ball on the blanket instead.
How To Modify This Beach Ball Game For Older Children
Make it harder and use a smaller sheet with the big ball and still tell them not to touch the ball. You can also ask them to hold the sheet higher or lower. Add the games above to make it more challenging or blindfold half the kids and half the others direct them to the right place.
Our Experience With This Beach Ball Game
We had so much fun! We crossed our obstacle course, bounced the ball, raced each other, played red light green light, it was so much fun. It was nice to get out side, be active, and enjoy some sunshine and fresh air.
The best part was my older kids and younger kids got to both enjoy this beach ball game. It was nice having everyone included. We even got some of my kid’s friends involved and had races. It was a blast.
It’s a simple outdoor activity the whole family can join in on. I hope your family had as much fun as my family did!
