Galliford Try has been picked to build the £69m Paisley Grammar Community Campus.
The contractor will deliver facilities for up to 1,380 pupils, including all-weather sports pitches, a 300-seat theatre, a dance studio, teaching kitchens and music suites.
The scheme, designed by Ryder Architecture, received planning permission in January and is funded by Scottish Futures Trust and Renfrewshire Council, with the latter acting as client.
Renfrewshire Council said the new campus would be complemented by a £26m roadworks project that will see the creation of a new 93-metre span steel arch bridge over White Cart Water.
A tender for the project, which also includes 1.7km of road widening and creation of new walking and cycling routes, was launched by Renfrewshire Council in March.
In June 2023, Renfrewshire said the school campus project would start on site in spring 2024 and open in time for a summer 2026 cohort. However, it is unclear whether the delay in getting on site will effect the completion timetable.
