- The Giants were subjected to a 40-0 drubbing by the Dallas Cowboys on “Sunday Night Football” in Week 1. Before that game, there hadn’t been a season-opening shutout of 40-plus points in the NFL since 1999.
- New York quarterback Daniel Jones was held to 63 total yards in the first half Sunday, going 9-for-16 passing with one interception. He was sacked twice.
- Arizona quarterback Joshua Dobbs went 12-of-16 for 146 yards and rushed for one touchdown. Running back James Conner also notched a touchdown on the ground.

New York struggling on both sides
The Giants have just looked lost on both sides of the ball to start Sunday. On offense, part of that is the absence of star left tackle Andrew Thomas, who is out with a hamstring injury. His replacement Josh Ezeueud had a costly false start penalty on the very first play of the game. And while the line isn’t showing as obvious discomfort as last week, the offense has tallied five first downs through 30 minutes of play. That’s in contrast to the Cardinals offense, which has already picked up 16 first downs after posting only 13 first downs in their first game. — Carroll
