Van Lith averaged more than 15 points, four rebounds and two assists across 101 Louisville games. Her transfer to TCU has been fruitful, with career-high marks in both assists and effective shooting percentage. The team as a whole was locked in on Friday, knocking off Fairleigh Dickinson by 22 points. Senior guard Madison Conner was the leading scorer (23) and nailed four treys. Van Lith was off on the jumper (5-of-13 overall), but she added seven assists.

Louisville didn’t have the luxury of a comfortable opening-round blowout. They edged Nebraska, 63-58, despite being outshot on 2s and 3s. Senior Jayda Curry drew a momentous charge and made two clutch free throws in the final minute. Freshman Tajianna Roberts is mired in a four-game slump, but she led the team with 16 points on 7-of-18 shooting.

TCU plays with a languid pace, getting buckets with patience and efficiency. Louisville relies on winning the offensive glass and doesn’t care much for the deep shot. Each team has a distinct identity to lean on and can get the other side into foreign tempos. For the Cardinals to pull the upset, they’ll have to crank up the game speed and steal points through turnovers and second chances. The Horned Frogs have already enjoyed their winningest season in program history. The purple-clad home crowd should be sufficiently raucous on Sunday evening.
