Mahindra Automotive, over the last few years, has cemented its name as India’s largest SUV manufacturer. Currently, its most popular model in the lineup is the Scorpio-N full-size ladder-on-frame SUV, and its lifestyle off-roader Thar is also very popular as well. However, before these two SUVs gained their fame, the previous generation Scorpio was one of the most important cars in Mahindra’s lineup. Recently, a video of a classic tug of war between these three SUVs has been shared online.
This tug of war video, comprising the Mahindra Scorpio-N, the previous generation Scorpio, and Mahindra Thar, has been shared on YouTube by Small Town Rider on their channel. It starts off with the presenter introducing the four cars that they have brought for the tug of war test. He states the first car is his Mahindra Thar 4X4 diesel. Then, he shows the Scorpio S11 4X2, Scorpio S10 4X4, and the Scorpio-N 4X4. Following this, he then mentions that first the Scorpio S10 vs. S11 will take place, and then they will make the Thar compete with the Scorpio S10, and there will also be a competition between Scorpio-N 4X4 and Scorpio S10 4X4.
Mahindra Scorpio S11 4X2 vs. S10 4X4
After the introduction, the presenter then shows the Scorpio S10 4X4 vs. Scorpio S11 4X2. He states that first they will compete with in 4X2 modes, and in this round, the Scorpio S11 edges out the S10 4X4. The same happens when the Scorpio S10 was put in 4X4 high mode. However, with the 4X4 low mode engaged in the Scorpio S10 4X4, the S11 4X2 was dragged.
Mahindra Scorpio S10 4X4 vs. Scorpio-N 4X4
Following the presenter, then asks his friends to line up the Scorpio-N 4X4 against the Scorpio S10 4X4. After both cars get lined up, the presenter asks them to commence the tug of war. It can be then noted that the Scorpio-N easily pulls away from the Scorpio S10 4X4. After this, the presenter asks the owner of the S10 4X4 to engage the 4X4 low mode to give the Scorpio-N a tougher competition. However, the driver of S10 4X4 mentions that it was already engaged. What’s more interesting is the Scorpio-N did this pull by just being in the 4X2 mode.
Mahindra Thar vs. Scorpio S10 4X4
Next up, the presenter takes the seat behind the steering of his Thar 4X4 diesel and lines it up against the Scorpio S10 4X4. They first start at standard 4X2 configuration, and in this battle, no car was able to drag the other one, so it was tied. Next up, they engage the 4X4 high mode, and this time as well the round gets tied. Finally, the same happens when the 4X4 low modes of both cars were activated.
Mahindra Thar 4X4 vs. Scorpio-N 4X4
Back in January of this year, a video was shared from the same YouTube channel in which the same Mahindra Thar 4X4 was tied up against the same Scorpio-N from the most recent video. In that video, they did the same sequence of runs where they first did the tug of war in 4X2, then in 4X4 high, and lastly in 4X4 low. What happened was that in the first two rounds the Scorpio-N got turned off, and the Thar was able to drag it. However, in the last round, the Scorpio-N effortlessly dragged the Thar.
