The images of the XUV e.9 have been shared by Rahul Autospy on his Instagram page. The fully camouflaged test mule looks closer to the production version. The main attraction of the upcoming XUV e.9 is the coupe-like design. This design has come back in trend, and many other manufacturers are also coming up with models with a coupe-ish design.

The production version of the XUV e.9 looks similar to the concept that was showcased by Mahindra a few years ago. The front of the SUV gets an upright-looking grille and bumper. The SUV is expected to get an LED light bar that runs across the width of the bonnet. As this is an EV, the front grille will be completely closed, with gaps provided in the lower part of the bumper.

The headlamps are visible in the images here. The SUV will come with projector LED units that are vertically stacked. From the image seen here, the headlamp cluster is likely to get a triangle-like design with a drop-down LED DRL integrated into it. The image also shows the side profile of the electric SUV.

It comes with an alloy wheel with an aerodynamic design. Many car manufacturers do this to reduce drag and improve the overall driving range. The door handles for the front door are not visible in the images, which means the SUV is most likely to get flush-fitting door handles, which we first saw with the XUV700.

The rear door handles are neatly integrated into the C-pillar, next to the quarter glass. The sloping roof design with a smaller spoiler with a high-mounted stop lamp in it can also be spotted here. The shark fin antenna is also visible. The sloping roof meets the rear windscreen, which meets the tail lamp.

Just like the front, the rear also gets LED tail lamps with an LED strip running across the width of the car. The reverse light is placed below the tailgate next to the reflector. The bumper has provision for a registration plate but, in this test mule, the plate is on the tailgate. The electric SUV from Mahindra is expected to come with premium features. The dashboard is expected to get a three-screen setup, and we also expect to see a two-spoke steering wheel, ADAS, leatherette upholstery, multi-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, and so on.

Mahindra XUV e.9 is built on the INGLO platform. This is a skateboard platform that we would see in most upcoming Mahindra EVs. Technical specifications of the SUV are not confirmed yet; however, we expect this e-SUV to come with a 450-500 km range battery pack with a powerful single and dual-motor setup depending on the variants.

The XUV e.9 is expected to be launched in the market next year. The anticipated launches from Mahindra this year include XUV 3XO and Mahindra Thar 5-door. Other than the Mahindra XUV e.9. Tata Curvv and Citroen Basalt will also have a coupe like design.
