Nottingham Forest sign Joel Ndala on loan from Manchester City

Nottingham Forest have confirmed the signing of Joel Ndala on loan from Manchester City.

The deal brings the 18-year-old to the City Ground until the summer with an option to make the move permanent in the summer.

The forward is seen by Forest as one for the future, rather than a first-team starter and has spent this season out on loan playing for PSV’s reserve side PSV Jong in the Dutch second tier.

“We are delighted that Joel will be joining us here at Forest,” said the club’s Head of Football Development & Talent Management Craig Mulholland. “He is an exciting young talent who our recruitment team have tracked for some time.

“With our history of having an Academy graduate in every first team squad since the 1940’s I know Joel will be excited by the pathway we have here at Forest for talent to progress.”

Ndala came through the Port Vale youth setup before joining City aged 17. He then moved to PSV in September 2024 on a season-long loan with an option to join permanently at the end of this season, but that loan has been cut short and he will join Forest.

He was included in City’s squad for the 2023 Club World Cup in Saudi Arabia.

Earlier on deadline day, Forest signed Tyler Bindon from Reading, but the New Zealand international will spend the rest of the season at the League One club. Midfielder James Ward-Prowse was also recalled by West Ham United from his season-long loan at Forest.
