The Baltimore Orioles fired manager Brandon Hyde on Saturday, the team announced. The team is mired in a four-game losing streak and is off to a 15-28 start after winning 91 games last season.
Hyde, 51, joined the Orioles after the 2018 season and guided the team through its rebuild, beginning with a 54-108 record in 2019. In 2023, the team won 101 games and topped the American League East for the first time since 2014. It was the team’s first 100-win season since 1980.
Third base coach Tony Masnolinio will take over as interim coach, the team said.
