Penn State’s Nick Singleton and Kaytron Allen are both back for 2025. The Nittany Lions dynamic running back duo announced their returns for senior seasons on Monday, the first day of Penn State’s spring semester.
The duo, known as the Lawn Boyz, both committed to Penn State in the 2022 class knowing they’d work in tandem during their collegiate careers. Given the lure of NIL opportunities elsewhere it seemed unlikely a year or two ago Penn State would be able to keep both for the entirety of their collegiate careers. Running backs coach Ja’Juan Seider spoke extensively this season about how rare it is to keep two starting running backs happy and bought into this system, which is what Penn State has done.

Long flying under the radar, Kaytron Allen gets his moment in Penn State Fiesta Bowl win
Singleton and Allen each eclipsed 1,000 yards rushing this season, the first time Allen hit the mark in his career. Penn State’s success in the run game was instrumental in the last month of the season as the Nittany Lions made the Big Ten Championship Game and advanced to the semifinals of the College Football Playoff.
Having both back next season along with quarterback Drew Allar, who previously announced his return for a senior season, should keep the nucleus of this offense in tact for coordinator Andy Kotelnicki.
