Rasmus Kristensen joins Eintracht Frankfurt from Leeds on season-long loan transfer

Eintracht Frankfurt have completed the loan signing of defender Rasmus Kristensen from Leeds United for the 2024-25 season.

The 27-year-old joined Leeds on a five-year contract from Red Bull Salzburg in the summer of 2022 and he spent last season on loan at Roma following Leeds’ relegation from the Premier League.

Kristensen made 29 Serie A appearances during the 2023-24 campaign as Roma recorded a sixth place finish. He was also part of Denmark’s European Championship squad this summer but did not make an appearance as his side exited at the last-16 stage.

Kristensen made 30 appearances during his single season at Leeds.

He was one of a number of players who left the club on loan last summer following their relegation to the Championship, alongside Robin Koch, Brenden Aaronson, Max Wober, Jack Harrison, Luis Sinisterra and Marc Roca.

Kristensen becomes the latest permanent exit from Elland Road this summer following Koch, Roca, Archie Gray, Diego Llorente, Charlie Cresswell and Glen Kamara, while Harrison has rejoined Everton on loan.

Leeds have made three additions to Farke’s squad ahead of the 2024-25 campaign, with Joe Rothwell, Joe Rodon and Alex Cairns joining.

Frankfurt finished sixth in the Bundesliga last season to qualify for the Europa League.
