Police are investigating a fire at a Taylor Wimpey construction site in Kent last weekend, during which building materials caught fire.
Fire crews received reports of a fire at the housebuilder’s Shorncliffe Heights development in Folkestone at around 8.30pm on Saturday.
Three fire engines arrived shortly after and put out the flames with hose reel jets. No injuries were reported.
Police are currently treating the fire as suspicious and are looking into the full circumstances. Taylor Wimpey is supporting police in their investigation, a spokesperson said.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service said construction materials were alight, although they did not say whether this was the source of the fire.
Taylor Wimpey said it was continuing work on site and has made arrangements to enhance site security.
Shorncliffe Heights is a decade-long housing development on a former military base. The phase currently under construction comprises 152 homes and is worth £30m, according to data provider Glenigan.
The development is transforming a site that once held an 18th century garrison, where soldiers trained to fight Napoleon.
